My trip to the heartland of neoliberalism

I was in Chicago two weeks back for the annual Association of American Geographers conference – helped to organize a session on biofuels, bioenergy and the emerging bioeconomy if anyone is interested – and decided to visit the University of Chicago while I was there. Thought I’d set my eyes on the heartland of neoliberalism in the flesh. I did the only thing any responsible critic can do in such circumstances, and took selfies of myself around campus.

However, I ended up being unable to decide whether the heartland is the Economics Department …

… School of Law …

… or School of Business.

Maybe it should be all three …

Somehow I managed to look almost exactly the same in all three photos, double-chin and all!
